Pearls of Wisdom

Pearls of Wisdom are a common treasure found in the watery realms. They are simply the coalescence of elemental water magics. The shells are valueless but the blue pearls within are magical. They grant a bit of wisdom equal about to a first level spell. They are thought based so if a possessor of a pearl to answer questions like if a fruit is toxic or safe to eat or if box is trapped or not, or what information is in a rune. Pearls can also be used to send and receive thoughts like the Thought Transfer spell.
Pearls abilities can be compounded up to second level magics, so 2 pearls could evoke a Know Glyph or a Limited Retrocognition spell. Unfortunately, water magics are highly changeable so Pearls of Wisdom remain for only a week at most before changing into something else. One who tries to hoard Pearls of Wisdom will usually find himself with nothing but a pile of damp, worthless shells.
