The Rune of the Jack O’Lantern

In a darkened woodland, tall trees stand and pumpkins glow in an eerie, orange light. Coins glister in each of the pumkins open mouth. There is a completely silver tree, with pink flasks of liquid hanging from its branches in the glades center. A figure moves. Its towering, tatterdemalion form steps from the shadows. Its haunting, pumpkin face illuminates the night. The spirit of the Jack O=Lantern looks towards you and speaks:

“The Danse Macabre have been sent to harass and hound you. The dark children do not want you to succeed. They thought to steal your greatest resource, the spirits of the town and the nearby woodlands. They thought to corrupt them or drive them into death.
I WOULD NOT STAND FOR THIS!!!
My abilities to affect the Danse Macabre are very limited but my influence is vast over the spirits and their home realm. I created a safe haven for all of the town’s spirits where the Dance of Death could not find them. They are safe there but beyond the reach of your spells. In the Spirit Realm, I have warded off an area for the safety of Pink Spirits of the newly dead. If you could find the means to get into this part of the realm, from there you may be able to reach a few spirits. You may find spirit icons in this realm that you can use to communicate, such as an apple that belongs to Gildust that you could use to call him. If you can find the means to open a gate or reach there, I will try to find you’re the Spirit-Guide of your choice.
